This report covers one base-camp power deployment at Kalaeloa Stages, Oahu, over 21 production days. All carbon figures are direct (Scope 1) diesel-combustion emissions derived from metered fuel, reported in metric tonnes CO₂e. Two stories: what we accomplished by replacing legacy diesel with a BESS microgrid, and where we take it next by adding the SGA-60 — a solar generating asset that eliminates fossil fuel and turns surplus energy into zero-emission EV charging. This architecture is built to repeat across productions and locations.

What we did: Microgrid replaces legacy generators
2 idle diesel generators replaced with 1 DEIF-controlled genset + 2 Viridi BESS units. Generator fires only when SOC hits 20%, runs to 90%, shuts off. Result: — fuel reduction, — fewer engine-hours. Deployed and proven at Kalaeloa.

What we can do: Add the SGA-60 solar asset
The SGA-60 is a 60 kWp solar generating asset — designed, prototyped, and deployed globally. Produces ~— kWh/day — over 5× daily load. Batteries stay topped up, generator becomes emergency-only. Result: — fuel reduction vs legacy. Proven hardware, ready to build.
Decarbonize
Surplus solar displaces grid fossil fuel
Excess solar energy charges crew EVs instead of being curtailed. Displaces HECO Oahu grid power (69.2% fossil fuel). Result: — kWh delivered, — tCO₂e grid emissions avoided (Scope 2 — reported separately from direct emissions).
Avoided Grid Emissions — EV Charging (Scope 2 Avoided)
Surplus solar that would otherwise be curtailed is delivered to crew EVs as zero-emission charging, displacing grid electricity. These are avoided Scope 2 emissions — reported separately from the production's direct (Scope 1) footprint.
